Marriage Monday - Love Dare 8

This week we are continuing our walk through the Love Dare.  I am truly enjoying our journey together in this.  Last week we made two lists.  One of the negative things of our husband and the other of positive things.  Did you make your lists?  You will need them today...

Love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave.  It burns like blazing fire.  Song of Solomon 8:6

Wrath is fierce and anger is a flood, but who can stand before jealousy?  Proverbs 27:4

Jealousy is one of the strongest drives known to man.  We become jealous of someone who achieves something that we have not achieved or someone who has something we do not have.  You don't typically think of this type of jealousy in marriage.  But if we are not careful, it can be there.

Your husband has many friends and enjoys going out for "guy time" while you are stuck home with the kids and chores.  He gets a promotion at work but all you got today was thrown up on by a sick baby.  Your husband easily loses twenty pounds and you struggle and only lose two.  There are many ways that we can become jealous of our husband.

As his wife, we should be our husband's biggest cheerleader.  The one who above all others, roots him on.  Who praises him for a job well done.  We never should be jealous of our husband's accomplishments, friends or anything else.

Think back to the recent months.  Have you been fighting jealousy over something with your husband or have you been his cheerleader, excited for him?

Today's Dare:
Determine to become your husband's biggest fan and to reject any thoughts of jealousy.  To help you set your heart on your spouse and focus on his achievements, take last week's list of negative attributes and discreetly burn it.  Then share with your husband how glad you are about a success he recently enjoyed.

After you burn the negative list, comment here or on our Facebook page and let us know you did it.  Ladies, when I did this the previous time I went through the Love Dare, it was so freeing.  And afterwards it is so much easier to be his cheerleader and focus on his good qualities.  I greatly encourage you to do this.

Sweet Blessings~
