His Weary Daughters

By: Jenifer Metzger

Some days I just feel weary. Does anyone else feel this way? I know I can't be alone.

We are tired; physically, mentally, emotionally. We are stressed and overworked. We trying to keep up with everyone and everything. It feels like every day is a new challenge, or maybe the same challenge taking us to a deeper level. We are grieving; the loss of a loved one or the loss of a dream. We are hurting for a loved one who has walked away from God. Our tears flow freely, or just maybe they refuse to fall.

Yes, we are weary. But, we are His weary daughters and He has made us a promise.

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am lowly and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

He wants us to come to Him. He promises to give us rest. He wants us to trade yoke with Him, for His is easy and light. He knows our fight, our struggle, our sin, our pain, yet He still wants us to lay our burden on Him.

These verses in Matthew remind us that there is hope and that we don't have to carry this alone. They remind us that He wants us, there is no fine print excluding us from this promise. Friend, God's beloved daughter, give it to Him. Give Him your burden. Give it all to Him. Let the weariness fade has He lifts the heavy yoke from your shoulders.

If you are feeling weary, I would love to pray for you by name. Comment below or email me at jenifer@w2wministries.org.

  2. This is such an encouraging post! It is when I try to keep up with the world that I become weary and burdened. Thank you Lord for the peace and rest you give. I wrote this week to the husband of a nagging wife, http://keepingthetiethatbinds.com/2020/02/12/to-the-husband-of-a-nagging-wife/
