Fearfully, Wonderfully Made

By: Jenifer Metzger

Have you ever looked at the face of your child and just felt the love of God? You can just see how He carefully and lovingly knit your little one together.

When you look at creation do you see the beautiful artistry of the Father? The sun to warm our day, the moon to sleep by, and all of the beautiful colors of the trees and flowers.

Do you feel the vastness of His love when you stand beside the ocean? This mass of water that knows where to stop and houses animals He created.

We look around and just see the creation, beauty, and love of God. But what do we see when we look into the mirror?

Do we see stitches of a loving Creator who put us together exactly the way He wanted us? Do we see the Spirit of our Father in our eyes? Do we see the blessing of smile lines on a face that has seen joy? Do we see tools God gave us to see, smell, and hear the blessings around us?

I praise you because I am
fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139:14

Stop looking in the mirror and see flaws. Stop seeing mistakes. You my dear sister are fearfully and wonderfully made. You have worth. You are treasured. You are important. You are wonderful. Go look in the mirror and see the wonderful creation that is you.

It's time for Share A Link Wednesday! Each Wednesday we invite you to leave a link to your latest blog post in the comments. We still desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories.

  1. Timely reminders. The Lord sees not as man sees, and what He values is not the same as what the world values.

    This week I wrote about how we can easily misjudge when we don't consider context: https://barbarah.wordpress.com/2019/02/25/one-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-misunderstandings/

  4. After being a caretaker for loved ones with cancer and also being diagnosed myself, I've learned that many do not know what to say or not to say to someone with cancer. Following are links to two of the posts in a three part series.

  7. Thank you so much for this encouragement. May the Lord bless you for all you do for Him! My link for this week talks about the pain of letting go of physical possessions from the past and how difficult it is to see our children grow up so quickly. It can be found at: https://www.biblicalminimalism.com/2019/02/softening-pain-of-letting-go.html

  9. Thank you for the reminder when we look into the mirror to do it with positive not negative thoughts. Love how you describe when we look at the wonder of what God has given here on earth. Sometimes a childs smile or a sunset can bring our love to tears. My latest blog post is here: https://peabea.blogspot.com/2019/03/fulness-of-joy.html
