What God has prepared for those who love Him...

The other morning I woke up with the verse above running through my mind.  Lest you think I'm super spiritual, the only thought that is typically running though my mind when I wake up is, "I need coffee!"  That is why I knew it was a God thought-something not from my own mind but from His heart to me.

Have you ever had something turn out even better than you imagined? When I asked myself this same question, one of the things that immediately came to mind was having grandchildren.  Being a "nana" is way better than I could have ever imagined!

Have you ever had the joy of making something happen for someone else that was more than they imagined?  One of my granddaughters told me after a special day together that I had planned that it was, "the best day ever!"  Those words made every bit of effort and preparation I had made worth it.

It's overwhelming to think that the God Who created this beautiful world for us to enjoy, Who sacrificed His Son for our salvation and adopted us into His eternal family, Who daily, watchfully cares and provides for and protects us, has even more wonderful surprises in store for us.  He has some wonderful surprises for us here in the land of the living-things that will make us say, "WoW!  I never expected this!"  And, of course, He has some wonderful surprises for us throughout eternity.  I'm pretty sure that eternal life will be one wow moment after another.  I think that God, Who is a good, good Father, looks forward to preparing blessings for us and takes delight when He sees us enjoying His blessings in our lives. But as far as what is to come, I'm pretty sure He has some, "This is going to blow their minds!" things prepared for us.

Life here and now can be really, really hard.  Those grandkids that bring me so much joy came into our lives after years of hope deferred for our children.  All six of them have a miracle story behind their existence.  The good things God has for us in this life are mixed in with the suffering of living in a sin-sick world, aren't they? Now, just imagine how wonderful it will be when God makes all things new, when He makes all wrong things right, when there's a new heaven and a new earth where no sorrow, sickness or tears will exist to taint our joy.  Can you even imagine?  Well, guess what?  It's going to be even better than that!

  2. This is one of my favorite scriptures, Elizabeth! Because of all the reasons you talk about here! It makes this introvert want to get up and dance, lol! That feeling that you had when your granddaughter said, "Best day ever!" just think how we make God feel when we worship Him with a grateful heart! Such an inspiring post today! Blessings on your Sabbath, my friend!
