What Do You Hope For

By:
Emily Miller

We are onto month two of 2018.

With Valentine's day approaching, I want to talk about the things you may hope for in life, marriage more so in particular.

For us single ladies, marriage can be a thing that we hope for and long for in our lives.

There is nothing wrong with hoping that you will one day find that certain someone God has intended you to unite with.

There is also nothing wrong with praying for the possibility and chance of marriage this year.

What is wrong is putting "all your eggs in one basket", in a manner of speaking.

Marriage may or may not be in the cards for you this year.

Either way, I still thank God for whatever way He might lead you this year because both paths offer tremendous opportunities to grow.

Young women of Jerusalem, I charge you: do not stir up or awaken love until the appropriate time.
-Song of Solomon 8:4

Blessings,

Emily

  1. Yes, Emily. No matter what our stage in life or what our hearts hope for, the only safe place for all our hopes and dreams is in the hands of our loving God.

  2. I was just reading something similar in Trust by Lydia Brownback this morning. She wrote that whether we're single longing for marriage, married longing for children, working longing for a certain job title, our true identity and the only one where we'll find contentment is in Christ.

  3. Close companionship is important for each of us. May the Lord open up some amazing doors this year for everyone!
