Pursued...

In the heart of every woman there is a desire to be pursued by her lover.  This universal desire has been reflected for years in fairy tales.  For example, in the story of Cinderella the handsome prince searches high and low all over his kingdom for the mysterious owner of the glass slipper, for the one who captivated his heart at the ball.  Whether you are still in the dating stage of a relationship or you've been married for fifty years,  I surmise that you would love to know that your "prince" would likewise give their all to pursue and woo you.

On my prayer list are the names of all of my mama's descendants.  One of Mama's last prayers was that all of her descendants would be saved.  When Mama died I felt like God wanted me to continue to pray for the salvation of all of my siblings and their descendants.  Recently, I've been seeing evidence of God's relentless pursuit in some of their lives.  I've seen hope that their hearts are softening to His love.  This has given me such hope for my loved ones, but it has also reminded me of God's great love and pursuit of us all.  The desire of God's heart is for us.  We were  planned for and created by Him with great love.  We were redeemed by Him with the unfathomable sacrifice of His Only Son.  We are relentlessly pursued and wooed by His Holy Spirit.  We are His beloved ones and the desire of His heart is for us.  He longs for us to know Him and His great love, to believe it and to receive it.  He continually pursues us, woos us, and knocks on the door of our heart until we open up our heart and receive Him and His great love. Maybe your boyfriend or spouse doesn't quite measure up to what your heart longs for in his pursuit of you.  Rest assured that there is One Who surpasses your heart's desires.  You are His beloved and His desire is for you.

  1. Such a beautiful to reminder to be faithful to pray for our families as the Lord will persistently pursue them. My Gram prayed for all of us in our family, by name, every single day. Thank you for the reminder to not let prayer for each by name, fall by the wayside. Blessings!

  4. So true...the human love has needs and desires and sometimes as women, or at least as a young person I did, we assume that once love is professed, it will be a constant praise of your loved one, and we forget the other person needs the love professions also. I had to laugh because years ago, my hubby had to tell me, "The chase is over." His way of letting me know finally that he had pursued me and had one, but now we were on to maturity in our relationship, I guess. Same with God, he loves us, but as I read his word, I see that it is a two way street. I try to remember to say a thank you to him and let God know that I do appreciate all he does for me. Okay, sometimes I also let hubby know that I appreciate all that he does for me. ~smiles~ but I still like to be pampered...must be the youth that hangs onto me. :)
Your posts are always great reminders. I too have prayed for some and seen his amazing results, but still there are others. Prayers for your family members.
    Happy Sunday

    1. I love your reminder that it is a two way street in our relationship with God. He pursues us and we also pursue/seek Him.
