Christmas Blessing Giveaway

The start of the Christmas season is officially upon us. Often, this means the next 25 days will be insanely busy. There is shopping to be done, gifts to be wrapped, parties to attend, cards to be mailed, the list goes on and on.

Among the busyness, be intentional about still having your quiet time each day. Read your Bible, pray and sing worship; don't skip this time because you have a long to-do list.

Consider doing an Advent study. I began doing an Advent study a few years ago and I love this extra time each day to help me keep my focus on God during this time. She Reads Truth and Women Living Well have a great advent study going on right now.

No matter what your schedule, shopping list or to-do list looks like, make sure God is at the very top.

  1. My favorite Christmas memory was getting together on Christmas eve with my mom's family and my cousins. We would usually have a live nativity with the younger kids (me too when I was young) and then we'd gather around the piano where my Great Grandma would play Christmas Carols and we'd all sing along.

  3. My favorite Christmas memory was when I was a kid every Christmas my dad would take us to a Christmas Tree farm to buy a fresh Christmas tree and we would hunt for the perfect tree, then we would all sing Christmas carols, sipping hot cocoa, eating moms homemade decorated sugar cookies, and decorating the tree , and putting the lights on the house. Family and friends would come to visit some would even help decorate. My mom would make a big lasagna dinner for us and anyone who came by. I loved all those (now vintage) ornaments, the tinsel, and lights but nothing can top the memories of a loving family.

  13. My favorite Christmas memory was of us all gathering around the table for Christmas brunch BEFORE we opened our presents. The happy chatter and the good food (my mom would cook for days - homemade cinnamon rolls - yummy !!!) Mom has been gone for many years but I still remember her love of Christmas but as I've gotten older I realized it was us getting together as a family that she really loved !!

  18. My favorite Christmas memory is having our kids leave cookies for Santa, one for each of them. A few years ago, the kids left an extra cookie because we were having a new baby. As it turned out, we should have left 2 extra cookies because we were having twins!
