Crockpot Chicken and Noodles

By: Melissa Baker

This is an easy, "go to" recipe that has very few ingredients. You can throw it in the crock pot and let it cook while you are working, at ball games, shopping, etc. Very simple yet really delicious!

Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (I used frozen)
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2-15 oz cans chicken broth
  • 24oz. frozen egg noodles

Directions:

Cook chicken, soup, butter, and broth in crock-pot on low for 6-7 hours.
Take chicken out and shred.
Put chicken back in; add noodles and cook on low for 2 hours.
Stir a few times while cooking

Tip: Serve with mashed potatoes.

    1. Leighona, I've done it frozen and thawed. Frozen just takes an extra hour or two in the crockpot. :)

    1. Colleen, YES! I make it without the crockpot all the time. Boil your chicken first. Remove the chicken, using the same water, boil the noodles. Shred chicken. Add chicken to noodles. Keep the water, do not drain. Put into 13x9 pan and bake for 15-20 min at 350*. **I add Velveta cheese for a different flavor. :)

    1. Check in the freezer section of your grocery store, usually near other frozen breads, rolls, etc. Not all stores carry them, but you might be surprised. They're delicious-- thicker and more "bready," sorta like dumplings.

    1. Ooh! Great idea! I would say maybe halfway. They'll take longer than the noodles but not as long as the chicken. Hope that helps!

  28. This is the first review I have ever left on Pintrest. My test of a good recipe is one that stands the test of time and this is one of those recipes. I have made numerous times over the last two years and have gotten my extensive family hooked on it. It is easy, delicious, and comforting. I do everything the recipe says but I use egg noodles as I make extra to freeze and the frozen noodles kinda dissolve. Thanks for the recipe.
