Soft Pretzels

Fresh, warm, Soft Pretzels just dripping with all that gooey cheesy yumminess. Who can pass up a chance to eat 2-3 (or more) for snack?! Or better yet let's just skip supper and have these instead!

If you like buying them at the Mall when your shopping, trust me these are even better and you will have the satisfaction of telling people that you actually made them.

Two of my brothers actually had soft pretzels and cheese sauce at their wedding for an appetizer and it was a 'big hit' with all the guests!

Todays recipe comes from one of my newest cookbooks, that was a gift from my hubby. I love it!

So here's the recipe:

Soft Pretzels

2 T Yeast
2 c water
1 T brown sugar
1 T white sugar
3 T oil
4 to 6 c bread flour

Soda Water Mix
3/4 c water
1 T baking soda

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Mix all these ingredients (I just added flour till the dough was still a little sticky but not enough that it would stick to your hands.) and let rise till dough has doubled. Approximately 30-40 minutes.
  3. Shape into pretzels and dip into soda water.
  4. Place on greased pans
  5. Sprinkle with salt. If you don't have pretzel salt you can just use regular salt.
  6. Bake until a nice light golden brown.
  7. Brush with butter
  8. Serve with cheese sauce.

Hoping you enjoy these! Let me know how they turn out for you :)

If you like spicy cheese sauce check out this recipe on my blog.

** If your container of cookies gets hard, put in a slice of bread to soften them again. It works so great!
