Friendships {W2W Word Filled Wednesday Link Up}

Friendship is important. I say it all the time; God did not intend for us to do this life alone.
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:

If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
I am not the kind of gal that goes out to lunch with her girlfriends or has girls nights out or goes shopping. For the most part, I am very much a homebody. I like to be at home or with my husband and children.

But I still need friends. I need to know that there is someone there pray for me. Someone to call on when I am in need. Someone to laugh with. Someone to cry with. Someone to pick me up.

I have been greatly blessed with some dear friends. Some of them close and some hundreds of miles away. Two of my best friends live far away from me. One I have never officially met face to face. But they are best friends nonetheless.

Yesterday, I saw such a beautiful tweet. It made me think of all my friends, especially those far away.

Heaven is going to be so amazing. We get to be with Him and no travel will be needed for me to hang out with my friends from all over the world.

I need these friends. I love knowing that they are praying for me and that I can turn to them in time of need. It blesses my heart knowing these friends are there for me.

As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17

The old saying goes you must be a friend to have a friend. That is truth. To have someone there for you, you must be there for them. For someone to trust you with their heart, you must trust them with yours. For someone be an accountability partner to you, you must be one to them.

A friend loves at all times...
Proverbs 17:17

We need each other. We need to have a friend. We need to be a friend. Are you struggling with finding a friend? Pray. God wants this for you. He will answer your prayer and bless you with a friend. So pray and be open to His answer. It may come in the form of a sister/sister-in-law, neighbor, mother of your child's friend, pastor's wife, lady in the church, co-worker, just be open to who God has planned for you. Then water and fertilize and grow that relationship.

Do you have a friend/accountability partner? Do you find it easy to be a friend/accountability partner?

  1. I love what you shared Jenifer! I don't know if you ever read my post in the last month on friendship. It's not easy for a lot of women. It's a gift to have one good friend let alone several. I pray I'm counted among your long distance friends. :)

    Love ya!
