When God granted us a free will, he gave us choices. Choices with our words to instill light or darkness to the soul.
It's so easy to speak without thinking, so easy to react in the heat of the moment. What's not easy is taking back the hastily thought out phrases that were used to take down while seemingly vindicating self in the process.
It takes practice, it takes a moment by moment surrendering of self over to the will of the Father to seek His guidance to speak words of light and life.
If your facing trials or difficulties that seem unfair, that make you want to state your case, with all the vibrato and strength you can muster....
Stop. Think. Are these words true, are they kind, do they really need to be said?
Choose life giving words, instead of words that will destroy.
Make choices today that will draw others closer to God and that will leave legacies in His name.
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.
~ 1 Peter 3:9-11
