Tasty Tuesday - Chocolate Chip Cookies

One of my favorite things to do is bake, and one of my favorite things to bake are chocolate chip cookies. Henceforth, my favorite Sesame Street character is the Cookie Monster (smile). I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup +3 Tablespoons butter
(butter should be chilled)
3 Tablespoons butter flavored Crisco
1 cup golden brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons real vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions
Heat oven to 350*. Mix butter and Crisco in mixer on medium speed. Slowly add sugars. Mix together 3-4 minutes, occasionally scraping down sides of bowl with spatula. Whisk together eggs and vanilla, slowly add to butter and sugar mixture, mix 3-4 minutes on medium speed. Sift together dry ingredients and slowly mix into butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Mix chocolate chips in with a wooden spoon. Shape into small golf ball sized balls and place on cookie sheet. Let them chill in freezer until firm. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cooking time depends on what type of oven you have. Let them rest on cookie sheet for 2 minutes and then cool on wire rack.

Many Blessings~

  1. We LOVE to bake chocolate chip cookies! Homemade chocolate chip cookies are WAY better than store bought dough. I have never tried this recipe, I use the Nestle Toll House recipe. But I am definitely going to try it! :)
