Word Filled Wednesday - The Trap

"I command you, be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go".
~ Joshua 1:9

Lobster Trap

Do you ever fall into the old familiar discouragement trap? The one where all of life's problems seem to be closing in on you and you don't know which way to turn. If we are not careful and let our guard down, it can happen so quickly.

Here's the thing.....God doesn't want us to feel like were trapped.

In Him, we are new creatures, we have a new life, we can live abundantly free from life's worries and disappointment's when we give our lives over to Him!

The feeling of being trapped happens when we let out guards down, when we every so slowly, little by little, let out relationship with God, take second place. It's easy to get busy with life and think, "Oh, I am so tired, I don't need to read my Bible today. I'm sure God understands my situation. I'll just read my Bible and pray tomorrow." But, tomorrow ends up being twice as busy as yesterday and the cycle starts to repeat itself, and your relationship with God has started to suffer because of it.

Don't let this happen friends!

We must fight to overcome this and the trap of discouragement! The way to do this is by following God's command to put on His full armor so we will be able to stand against Satan's attacks.

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Ephesians 6:10-18

Discouragement is from the enemy. Don't let the enemy win! We need to be in constant communion with God, every minute of every hour of the day. It's through His name that we can overcome.

"I command you, be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go".
~ Joshua 1:9

Strength and hope is found in the One who matters most. Just reach out for Him....He is always by your side to see you through and release you from the trap that Satan tries to set. I'm so thankful that our freedom is found through Christ, our Savior and Lord!

Many Blessings~
