10 Can’t Fail Predictions for the New Year

Wow!  Can you believe it's already 2012?  Do you make New Year's resolution's every year?  Have you ever 'kept' a resolution that you made?  Most people, I would say, do not keep the resolutions they make on New Year's Eve.  It seems that New Year's is nothing more than a time to make empty promises to yourself.  I can honestly say that I don't make New Year's resolutions.  I don't like New Year's resolutions and I don't like New Year's predictions.  However, I have a list of 10 can't fail predictions for this new year.  As I began to ask God what He would have me say to the kids in Kidz Klub on Sunday, I came across this sermon idea on one of my favorite sites, Ministry-to-Children.  It is quite fitting for adults as well as children.  I hope you enjoy it.
10 Can’t Fail Predictions for the New Year

#1:  The Bible will have all the answers
(at least the ones that we really need)

"The Lord our God hasn't explained the present or the future, but He has commanded us to obey the laws He gave to us and our descendants."
Deut. 29:29 (CEV)

#2:  God will hear our prayers

"When His people pray for help, He listens and rescues them from their troubles."
Psalm 34:17 (CEV)

#3:  The Holy Spirit can still change the world.

"But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power.  Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world."
Acts 1:8 (CEV)

#4:  God will still keep His promises

"God is not like people, who lie;
He is not a human who changes his mind.  Whatever he promises, he does;
He speaks, and it is done."
Numbers 23:19 (TEV)

#5:  There are still only Two Ways to Live

" The Lord protects everyone who follows him, but the wicked follow a road that leads to ruin."
Psalm 1:6 (CEV)

#6:  God will still love sinners like us.

"16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
John 3:16-17 (NIV)

#7:  Jesus will save any who comes to Him.

"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Acts 2:21 (NIV)

#8:  Jesus will not forget about his friends.

"2There are many rooms in my Father's house, and I am going to prepare a place for you.  I would not tell you this if it were not so.  3And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am."
John 14:2-3 (TEV)

#9:  God will not give up on you.

"God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won't stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns."
Philip. 1:6 (CEV)

#10:  Everything you do in 2012 will be "on the record."

"I also saw all the dead people standing in front of that throne.  Every one of them was there, no matter who they had once been.  Several books were opened, and then the book of life was opened.  The dead were judged by what those books said they had done."
Revelation 20:12 (CEV)

Think of these 10 promises...they are promises and not really predictions.  If you can remember these 10 things throughout this year, you will be far ahead of the game.  Let's take one last look:

#1:  The Bible will have all the answers
#2:  God will hear our prayers
#3:  The Holy Spirit can still change the world.
#4:  God will still keep His promises
#5:  There are still only Two Ways to Live
#6:  God will still love sinners like us.
#7:  Jesus will save any who comes to Him.
#8:  Jesus will not forget about his friends.
#9:  God will not give up on you.
#10:  Everything you do in 2012 will be "on the record."

I pray that this new year brings you the peace of God, the joy of the Lord and love beyond measure!
