Tasty Tuesday - Recipe and Giveaway

Welcome to our first Tasty Tuesday here at Woman to Woman Ministries!  In honor of our first Tasty Tuesday, we have an awesome giveaway.  Details are at the end of this post.

One of my families favorite meals is lasagna.  It is the most requested and they never tire of it.  As a matter of fact, my very picky ten year old daughter will eat three, sometimes, four helpings of lasagna.  So here is our recipe:

Lasagna:

1 box oven ready lasagna noodles
1 small jar of spaghetti sauce (we normally use traditional for lasagna)
1 large (24oz) container of small curd cottage cheese
1 small (8oz) container of shredded parmesan cheese
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tbs oregano

(I have also added hamburger meat-already cooked, pepperoni, and bell peppers.)

Preheat oven to 350*.

In bowl, mix cottage cheese, 3/4 of shredded parmesan cheese, and 1 tsp oregano together.

Spray 9x13 metal or glass pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Coat bottom of pan with 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce.  Top with noodles, then top with cottage cheese mix.  Cover with spaghetti sauce.  Top with noodles then coat with sauce.  Add another layer of noodles then sauce.  Add shredded mozzarella then remaining parmesan.  Sprinkle with oregano.

Cover with foil.  This is a must!  I forgot the foil once and the lasagna did not turn out well.  Bake for thirty minutes, then remove foil and bake another thirty minutes.  Let sit for five minutes before serving.

Serve with a salad and garlic bread for a great dinner!  If you have any leftovers and will not eat them the next day, place in freezer safe container and freeze for a quick and easy lunch another day.

(this recipe costs about $12 and serves roughly eight people)

Now, about that giveaway...

One fabulous lady will win this fabulous prize:

My sweet friend, Carlee from Tastefully Simple has provided us with these delicious mixes.  Homestyle Beef & Noodle Soup Mix and Bountiful Beer Bread Mix. Please take a moment to check out her online store!  (The bread mix says beer, but Carlee said it does not have beer in it, just that some add beer to it.  She recommends adding 7Up or Sprite.) Thank you Carlee!

And my dear friend, Cindy from Oakview Cottage, made this fabulous apron, by hand!  Please take a moment to check out her blog for great ideas on design and inspiration.  Thank you Cindy!

  12. Woman to Woman is a beautiful idea. I love the Tuesday recipe. I have been partially immobile for the past 12 years because of arthritis and a serious illness I had. I was not able to walk without aid or stand long enough in the kitchen to prepare meals. Long story short, I recently had a hip replacement and wonderful therapy and my goal is to be able to soon stand in the kitchen and prepare a meal. The Lasagna recipe will be the first that I prepare. Thank you for this giveaway and the chance to win. I hope I do!
