A Follower

I have a very annoying dog.  He follows me EVERYWHERE!  If I take a step, he takes a step.  If I stop moving, he stops moving.  Where I go, he goes.  I don't know how many times he has caused me to trip because he is always at my feet.  As I was grumbling about him this morning, God spoke to my heart.  He said, "That's how I want you to be with me."

When we call Jesus "LORD", we are acknowledging that He is our master.  A slave doesn't tell his master what to do or where to go; the slave only does his master's will.  Jesus is our master and we are to obey His commands.  The world may tell us that it's all about our happiness and we should be all that we can be, but as a follower of God, we are to be all that He wants us to be; it's all about Him, not us.

 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do,
because you are his dear children.
Ephesians 5:1

 Just like my dog follows me, we are to follow God.  Where He goes, we go.  Where He stays, we stay.  We are to be completely devoted to Him.  Not our will, but God's will.

Are you a follower?

    He wants us to be in lock step with Him, and I can't think of a better place to be.

  6. He/She who loses money loses much;
    he/she who loses friends loses much more;
    he/she who loses faith loses all.
