Your Light, Truth & Leading

 By: Joanne Viola

O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling places.” (Psalm 43:3, NASB)

We are in such need of light and truth these days. But it needs to be His light, His truth.

Think about the last time you lied, or perhaps a lie was told about you.

When I was raising our children, I often told them I didn’t care what it was they had done, I only needed for them to always be truthful.

Trust is broken, severed, when one has not spoken the truth. The wounds left take time to heal and trust must be earned.

God has a way of surfacing lies, revealing to us the truths we need to know.

Much the way the light penetrates the darkness and reveals all that is in the shadows, God’s light and truth can disperse the darkness in our lives.

This verse tells us several things:

  • When we have been spoken ill of, or slandered, God will vindicate and protect our reputations.
  • In times of confusion and varied opinions, we can lean on and trust the truth and light of God’s Word.
  • God will send His light and truth so lead us on the right path.

“The truth is: We serve a generous God. He delights in giving us opportunities beyond our capabilities. He has promised to equip us, and remain with us through each bend in the road.” (David Jeremiah)

In every circumstance we face,
we can trust God to lead us as we rely on His light and truth!

  1. I needed this reminder! I had lies spoken about my family and I want to fight back, scream the truth. But I know I need to place it in God's hands and trust Him. ♥

  2. Joanne, I love your words here. In this season of less sunlight, I need to focus on the "true" Light! I need that Light to shine in the darkness revealing those areas displeasing to Him. Thank you!
