He Knows You Are A Sinner

By: Jenifer Metzger

It's there. Right there in your hands. That guilt that you are holding tightly too. The guilt that every time you start to feel free, your fingers caress and you are reminded once again of.

We don't want to open our hands and let go of the guilt. It's too hard. If God sees it, He will know how bad we really are. He'll know that sin that keeps haunting us. He'll know those thoughts that keep running through our mind, those words that slipped from our lips. No, we can't open our hands and let go.

Sister, He already knows. He knows you are a sinner. He knows the sins you've committed, the words you've spoken, and the thoughts you've had. He knows.

But guess what, He loves you anyway.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23

God created us with a free will and in doing so, He knew that we would sin. He knows that we are sinners and will never, ever be perfect this side of Heaven. We don't have to hold on to the guilt.

We need to know and remember that when we feel guilt, that is from the enemy. God convicts us out of love so that we can seek forgiveness and move on.

As far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed
our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:12

Once we have asked forgiveness, God doesn't remind us of the sin over and over. He doesn't replay it in our mind or taunt us. That is the enemy. God forgives, offers grace and mercy, and loves us anyway.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through Him.
John 3:17

Friend, open your hands. Release the guilt. Be free.
