Respect is Essential

By:

Emily Miller

It is a concept that we try to practice, yet struggle with doing so.

Everyone in our lives wants to be shown respect. They want to be told that their values, opinions, and ideas matter.

However, one of the ways in which I believe we fail in this aspect is by the fact that we can have the tendency, sometimes without meaning to, to use words that hurt the people we care about in our lives.

Sometimes, out of anger, we will chose words that we know will hurt the other person. Usually you regret these words later, if not the moment they come out of your mouth. This is because the devil LOVES it when he can wreak havocand conflict in our very own homes.

It is like it says in the Bible. The tongue can be the hardest part of the Body to control that we have to constantly keep in check.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
-Ephesians 4:29

We all want to strive to be Godly women who uplift and encourage each other. That may mean being in constant prayer when you do come into conflict with someone that it can be used as a healthy (yes, conflict is healthy) form of communication, and not a tool to tear each other down.

Blessings,

Emily
