He Is Not Safe But He Is Good

By: Emily Miller

You might have heard these word reading the Narnia books or watching the movies before, as the characters are referring to the great lion Aslan, the symbol for Jesus Christ in the stories.

They are easy to miss, but they are worth pondering.

God did not call us to follow Him only to give us a life of luxury.

We are called to follow Him, which means we are called to suffer for Him.

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
-Romans 6:13

Following Jesus may not always result in us walking on the safest path. It may not always be easy or fun. Yet, through the hardship, God still blesses us in ways that we cannot even begin to imagine.

When you keep this in mind, the words of the Narnian characters ring true in the end.

"He is not safe, but He is Good".

Blessings-

Emily
