You Finished Well, Mandy

By: Jenifer Metzger

Yesterday morning I was casually scrolling through Facebook when my blogging friend Courtney Joseph popped into my newsfeed. Her post made me pause. She shared of a mutual blogging friend, and her in real life friend, Mandy Kelly. As I read her post I kept thinking, no, not Mandy. It must be a different Mandy. Yet the pictures said otherwise. Mandy Kelly was a blogger at Worshipful Living. Courtney's post stated that Mandy's family had a house fire early Tuesday morning. Sadly, Mandy, her husband and their youngest two children did not make it.

All day I went about my regular duties and tried to just wrap my head and heart around this. Mandy loved Jesus. So. Very. Much. She loved sharing about Jesus. She loved seeing others reading the Word. She was so precious and gentle.

I couldn't think of a better way to honor Mandy's legacy than to share one of her very appropriate videos. This is a live video she did on Facebook last summer. She talks about finishing well. Mandy, dear one, you finished well.

Please listen and be encouraged by Mandy's words.

  4. It's so hard to lose someone, especially someone still in their prime and still serving God well. A few years ago our pastor died of pancreatic cancer, and a verse that helped me then was John 17:24, something Jesus prayed: "Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world."

  5. I was devastated and in utter disbelief when I heard about Mandy and her family. I had visited her blog a few times and thought she had such a sweet spirit. I watched the video you posted here last night and found myself mourning someone I didn't really know. O her heart for Jesus just shown so brightly in that video as it did on her blog.

Rejoicing that she is now in the presence of her Savior where she definitely heard, "Well done good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joy of the Lord."
