Are you in need of comfort?

by Debi Baker

Nowadays, my thoughts tend be jumbled and all too often turn to the thing that's consuming me the most...my beautiful mama. She has lung cancer, stage 4. I barely can say the words! I can be in the best of moods and suddenly I find myself in tears. I am not ready to lose her! Now, I'm not saying God can't or won't heal her and give her more time on this earth! He most certainly is able! I have every confidence in my God to do His will concerning this issue! With that being said, I am struggling today. So...like most days, I turn to the Word! Specifically verses that are comforting to those that are hurting! Today, I am sharing those verses with you. If I can find comfort in these verses, perhaps you will, too! And honestly, I don't think you have to be going through something to find comfort in them!

Please pray for me...and my precious mama and daddy...and I'll pray for you! If you have any prayer requests, please, put them in the comments and all of us here at Woman to Woman Ministries will pray for them!

A few verses to comfort you:
Psalm 23:4 NIV
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Isaiah 57:1-2 NLT
"Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die."

Jeremiah 1:8 NLT
"And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!"

Micah 7:7 NLT
"As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me."

Matthew 5:4 NIV
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

  1. Praying for you and your mama! I would like prayer for the young married couples in our church. So many of them are struggling in their marriages.

  2. I do pray you and your family find comfort and hope in God's word. We are so blessed to know that while we can only see and know a little of His plans, the whole of eternity is safe in His hands.
