I personally love the time leading up to Christmas.
After finals are over, and break is finally here, I can finally sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
There is nothing I enjoy more than sitting upstairs late at night in the family room, watching the lights on the tree and just sitting there quietly thinking to myself or praying to Jesus. For me there is no better way to relax this time of year.
Some of you may be stressed and overwhelmed with the season. You can't help looking at your long list of things to do and wondering how you will ever get all of these tasks done in time for the holiday.
If you happen to be one of those people, let me challenge you to take a step back, breathe in deeply, and relax.
Take some time when your house is quiet to sit and watch the glow of the Christmas lights on your tree. Curl up with your favorite blanket and beverage, and spend some time talking to God.
Thank Him for being the reason for this season to begin with, and talk with Him about anything that has been weighing heavily on your mind lately.
You will come away from this more rested and rejuvenated as a result, ready to tackle your to do list with a grateful mind and heart.
I hope you all enjoy this Christmas season with your families and have a safe and blessed New Year.
