It's a Brand New Day

By: Shari A. Miller

Have you ever had one of those days where everything you try to do goes backwards?

Your favorite outfit has a stain, you ran out of gas on your way to work, your boss made you stay 30 minutes late, and when you got home, the children were fussy, dinner hadn't been started and the sink was full of dishes.

Yep, we've all had those Calgon tale me away moments.

Here's the thing.....

We've got something way better than Calgon. We've got out heavenly Father the Lord Jesus Christ. It's so comforting to know that when we feel overwhelmed we can take our worries to Him.

Your problems may even be bigger than the scenarios listed above. Through it all, you have hope in God. Instead of looking at the negative side of your problems, take a moment to look at what you can learn from them. They are building character and wisdom. They are refining you into the image of what God has called you to be.

There are blessings amidst our daily troubles. We just have to look for them.

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us and eternal glory that far
outweighs them all." ~ 2 Corinthians 4:17 NIV

You also need to remember that these troubles will not last forever. As you read this take heart and remember that God is working all things out for good. He knows, He sees, He hears your every cry.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." ~ Romans 8:28 NIV

When you lay your head on the pillow tonight, rest in Him friends and leave your worries at His feet. When you drift off into dreamland, remember that tomorrow is a brand new day. In that day God is going to be right there waiting for you. He'll walk with you on our journey every step of the way.

Now that is something to be thankful for.

"A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful."
~ Luke 1:78 GW
