Your lifeline in the midst of your stormy sea...

When writing online, I'm aware that on any given day there is the possibility that someone who reads my posts may be facing the most difficult trial of their life.  In context, this passage is speaking specifically about financial circumstances.  Maybe you are in desperate financial straits and see no way out, no way through.  However, I think that this promise applies to any circumstance that a child of God may face.  Discouragement, depression, divorce, disease...whatever you are facing, whatever difficulty is looming over you, whatever is robbing you of peace, whatever is making you lose sleep, whatever is breaking your heart, grasp hold of this truth.  There is a God Who is holding you, Who promises to never let you go, Who promises to never leave you alone and helpless, Who promises to never forsake you.  Wrap your mind around this and wrap this around your mind.  Imprint it on your heart.  Speak it aloud. Believe it.  This is your lifeline in the midst of your stormy sea.  God is for you.  He is with you.  He has you in His hand right now.
