Shhh...God is speaking!

"¹⁰ Be still, and know that I am God!"

Psalm 46:10 NLT

Maybe I've been too busy.  Maybe I've been to talkative.  Maybe God is trying to talk and I haven't been listening.  Whatever the reason, I feel God has been saying, "be still, know that I am God."  

I always try to listen for His voice...in whatever form He chooses to speak...maybe it would be through the whisper of the trees or the patter of the raindrops falling gently.  Maybe it would be through the sweet friend with whom I have lunch.  Maybe He'll choose to speak with His voice or give me a thought.  I don't know how, but I know He speaks to me.

But trying to listen for His voice may not be enough since I feel the urgency to "be still."  Maybe I am just needing to rest in His presence because I am so busy and He sees His daughter getting tired...so tired, in fact, that sometimes I feel like I'm losing it.

I believe God has been speaking to us as a whole as well as to me individually.  It's time we take 'time' for Him.  Reading the Word, praying, worshiping, studying...those are all fine and well, but God wants His children to just be still and know that He is God.

Won't you take some time today and just be still before Him.  Turn off the TV, turn off the radio, sit outside in the sunshine or inside by the fire and just ... be still.
