Hang On... Spring Is Just Around the Corner

By: Shari A. Miller

I don't know about you, but this winter has been long for me. Even though where we live didn't get much snow, it seemed dark, and gray.

All. The. Time.

During this long season, I would always open all the shades and curtains in the house hoping to get in any small glimpse of sunlight that I could.

That was my problem, I couldn't see the sun. It made me feel lethargic and out of sorts.

Sometimes I think this can happen in our everyday lives.

We can't see the Son.

When we go through trials and troubles, it can seem as if the Lord is far away, out of reach and hidden by everything we are going through.

But, you know what? He's not. That's the enemy whispering lies, telling us the Father doesn't care and we are facing our difficult situation all alone.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

When fear and doubt creep in we need to stand on God's promises, immerse ourselves in prayer and His Word. We need to trust that his words are true and daily remind ourselves that He indeed will never leave us alone.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

Are you in a situation where you feel overwhelmed and out of sorts? Has this winter been extra long for you?

Hang on...Spring is Just Around the Corner.

Without a doubt I can promise you that the clouds will soon part both literally and figuratively. Once they do, we'll see the sun/Son shining down on us and we'll realize it/He has been there all along.
