God Seekers




Do you every find that your life just isn't playing the music you thought it would?

You know, the beautiful music of the likes of Mozart and Chopin. The concerto's that bring great joy, peace, and happiness into every crevice of your heart. Instead it may sound like an inexperienced person sitting down at a broken down piano for the first time, pounding his fingers on the tattered and worn keys, getting absolutely nowhere.

The music of life is a lot like our relationship with Christ. 

It can be so easy to fall into the trap of forgetting to talk to the teacher of life, the Lord Jesus Christ. We rush through our days forgetting to spend time in His Word and forgetting to pray, all the while thinking that, "Oh, I'll have time for that later, I can do this on my own for now." 

In reality, later slips away like sand through our fingers.

It exposes the truth of us trying to futility pound out life on our own, as we seek our own wishes and desires, leaving us feeling empty and flat.

Instead of being self seekers, it's time for us to turn things around and become God seekers.

Let's take time to put down all the stuff, all the things that don't really matter.

Let's use the time we've been given wisely.

Let's use it specifically for making our relationship with Christ more important than the air we breath.

Let's put ourselves in the students seat and the Master at the head of the class where He belongs.

Once we do this we'll be able to sit down at our pianos of life and play a beautiful masterpiece as the teacher moves and guides our lives towards his will.

Are you ready to join me on this journey of being God seekers? Are you ready to live this gift of life with hearts so full of Christ's love that His beautiful music plays loud and long for all to hear?

"Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us.   1. YES! I am ready. Recently, I made a renewed commitment to the Lord to start each day by dying to self and giving everything to Jesus. My kids, my marriage, my work, my time, my prayers - everything. Love this post. Thank you!

  3. The piano caught my eye first. My husband is a musician so I key into them pretty fast. Sometimes we just don't hear the music we wish for. Like you, I've found many times it's because I'm not spending enough time on the "first things." When I do, my heart sings and a concerto plays in my soul! ~Pamela
