The Secret Ingredient to Brownies

My family loves brownies. We make them often. As a matter of fact, my daughter made a batch just today. Recently in one of my fiction books I love to read so much, the main character made a batch of brownies. This character said these were the best brownies and that they contained a secret ingredient. The recipe just so happened to be in the back of the book. So I thought I'd share it with you today!

1 box any brand brownie mix
1/4 c chocolate chips
1/2 c chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
mini marshmallows

Mix brownies according to box instructions, add the chocolate chips and optional nuts. Bake as directed, taking care not to overcook. As soon as the brownies are removed from the oven, sprinkle with an additional 1/2 cup chocolate chips and enough mini marshmallows to sparsely cover the top. Cover the pan with a dish towel and let set for about five minutes. Then, while still warm and soft, use a spatula to marble the topping together, spreading well over the brownies. You can also sprinkle with additional nuts if desired.

What is your family's favorite kind of brownie?
