Wanting the best for our children...

My thought for today is the compassion of our Lord!    I am ever astounded by how much the Father loves us and how much grace He offers!

"8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding
in love…11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is
his love for those who fear him…13 As a father has compassion on his
children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;"
Psalm 103:8, 11, 13 NLT

Think about the people you love...you want the best for them, right?  You want them to have the best of everything and will do what you can to see that they get it.  That is how our God is.  He loves us so much that He wants to bless us and bless us and bless us.  Ok, so why doesn't He?  Well, even though you want those you love to be blessed and have it all, you wouldn't give them something they want just if it was harmful, would you?  Of course, not!  God won't give us the things we want if they are not good for us.  Look at verse 11...that is a LOT of love.  As we raise our children, teaching them, leading them and training them, understand that God is our Heavenly Father and He is doing the same with us.  It is for our own good when we don't get the specific 'blessings' that we want.

Have a blessed day!
