Saturday Chats - Let's Talk Joy

I have been seeing this same verse all over facebook and instagram.

It is written on pretty graphics in pretty hand-writing and each one is very inspiring.

As I really began to think about what that verse means and what it is implying about women of God, I decided it would make a great chat for us today!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Proverbs 31:25...

Chat with me here or on facebook and twitter... I'll be by to read your comments.

Have a great Saturday!

Fun on the journey,

  1. I have come to realize that God wouldn't put something in the Bible that were not possible. When we are fully, completely, 100%, without abandon, trusting in God, we CAN 'laugh at the future' because we KNOW that God is already there and only has our best interests at heart. We can trust that He is going to give us good, not harm, all the days of our lives. I don't think it's always easy. Rarely is it. But when we fully submit ourselves to God, it is possible. EXCELLENT chats, Jenilee!!!

  2. My favorite translation of the Bible (even though it's old-fashioned to some) is still the King James Version. It's probably because I learned Scriptures from this version from my youth up and when I quote Scripture, it's always the KJV. So, it's no wonder I prefer the KJV translation of this verse, which goes like this: "Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come."

What that means to me is this woman in Proverbs 31 is not afraid of the future, nor does she fear growing old (ouch!). Her trust in God is fixed and firm. As Jenifer said above, we can trust Him with all of our days.

  3. I love that! Rejoicing in time to come... yes we sure can because we know that we can trust Him which transforms us inside and out!

  4. What came to me while listening to this was how easy it is to laugh at the past. We laugh at our silly moments, our dumb mistakes, our embarrassing moments and even though those moments may have been painful we still find away to look back and laugh. Now lets pause and meditate on that. I read a post the other day where a missionary wrote a blog to her "20 year old self" and it was refreshing. Herself looking forward and herself looking back. The one looking forward was full of stress. The one looking back was full of joy and laughter. Maybe looking to the future and laughing is really something deeper. hum……Thanks for provoking my thoughts.
