Walking Through the Valley

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me besides still waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." ~Psalm 23:1-6

We all have times in our lives when troubles seem like they are surrounding us on every side. It's as if we are walking in a deep valley, and getting out of the valley seems next to impossible.

God's Word tells us not to fear when these times comes.

Why?

Because God is with us.

That's good news friends. When God is on our side, we know that He is taking care of everything. There is no need for worry or doubt. Nothing can stand against us when the Lord is for us.

Whatever your going through, give the control over to Him. Rest easy in His ways, not your own.

Call upon His name and trust Him with the outcomes. His ways are so much better than our own!

What helps you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus when your walking through a valley? Are there verses that bring you comfort?

What have you learned during these times?

Today we are so excited to have our W2W Word Filled Wednesday Link Up. We desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories in their comments. Use the hashtag #w2wwordfilledwednesday!

Three rules to this link up:

  2. "Rest easy in His ways, not your own." Such a good reminder! I love Isaiah 40:11 and the promise that He is carrying us close to His heart, as a Shepherd carries a baby lamb. What a comfort!

  3. Giving Him control over a particular situation in my life is something I've been struggling with. First I realized I wasn't giving it to Him. Then I realized that that maybe I wasn't releasing my grasp when I did lift it up to Him. But I keep trying, and asking Him to uncurl my fingers and release it. What a comfort to know He's always with me.

  4. This post really spoke to my heart today. I think sometimes we can feel fragmented by all of life's daily commitments. I find myself trying to *solve* all my problems on my own. What an awesome reminder and a great relief to rest in the ways of our Lord. Thank you so much! Love!!
