Marriage Monday - Power of a Praying Wife

I am so very excited to begin our new marriage series here at Woman to Woman.  I had no plans of doing another series once the Love Dare was over.  However, beginning back in October God begin to lay on my heart so strongly about praying for our husbands.  You see, my husband was deeply hurt by a man who was a father figure to him.  My husband did not grow up knowing a father until we married and he had my daddy.  This other man was a great role model, friend and accountability partner to Jeremy the past six or so years.  Then suddenly this man turned on my husband and it hurt him.  I began to pray daily, several times a day, for Jeremy.  That God would heal his heart and bring him peace.  After a couple of weeks of praying for my husband, God laid on my heart to reread the book by Stormie Omartian, Power of a Praying Wife.  God also showed me that there are other women out there that are struggling with knowing how to pray for their husbands.  As wives, we hold so much power when we pray for our husbands.  I firmly believe in the power of a praying mom.  As moms we bring our children to throne room of Heaven and God hears us. Even with our adult children.  But a wife knows how to pray for her husband in a way a mom cannot.  We can pray for our husband in intimate ways.  We understand our husbands in ways their mothers do not.

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband has full confidence in her

and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm,

all the days of her life.

Proverbs 31:10-12

So after much prayer, we have decided to do a series on this.  As with the Love Dare, each Marriage Monday I will bring you one chapter of Stormie's book.  I will have some of her insights (in italics), things God has shown me personally and her prayers.

Our series will begin next Monday, January 14th and run for 30 weeks to coincide with the 30 chapters.
