Worship Wednesday - True Worshipers

Today at Woman to Woman, we are on week five of our study of the book, The Air I Breath, Worship as a Way of Life, by Louie Giglio.

Whether we realize it or not we have been worshiping something our whole lives. When we worship something we are "doing" something, we are giving that important thing in our lives praise and adoration, which in return can turn around and bring much fulfillment into our lives or leave us filling hollow and empty. The choice is ours........we can chose to worship anything at whim, or we can join into the ranks of something more, the ranks of true worshipers.

"But now we're going deeper. Now we're making the move from worshiping any god that dangles in our view to responding to the invitation of the matchless God of gods. Now we're talking about a brand of true worship that's lasting and true. The kind we we're made for. Worship that both honors and satisfies us."
~ Giglio

When we become true worshipers, our worship is focused on one thing alone, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All other things of this world, which will soon pass away, get pushed to the side and become meaningless. There is a moment of utter silence in our lives when we finally realize....this is it....this is what I have been missing all along....this is what the meaning if life is all about....to worship the God of all gods, the King of all kings, the chosen One.

"Worship is....our response, both personal and corporate, to God - for who He is! And what he has done! Expressed in and by the things we say and the way we live." ~ Giglio

In our me centered, me first society we need to realize that worship does not start with us, but rather with God. God was in the beginning, He created all things for His pleasure to bring Him glory and honor. Worship is our response to God's greatness, for who He is.

This week lets take a good look at our lives....what gods are lying around on the dusty shelves of our soul? What is taking your time away from the one who matters most? I challenge you friends to spend time on your knees in prayer asking the Father for His guidance, in the areas of your life that need to change. Won't you join me sisters? Join me in becoming part of the ranks of a true worshiper?

  1. This is beautiful, Shari! I think that we {I} can easily put other gods that I worship in my heart without even realizing it. But if I pray for God to guide me and keep a continual attitude of worship to Him, that won't happen. Great encouragement.
