  1. Sorry to disappoint you, but our beginning was anything BUT romantic and is a VERY loooong and twisted story so to sum it up:

We knew each other in school, didn't like each other. Found ourselves working together in our adult years (me married with 2 kids - he the party boy)...didn't like each other...several years later, I was divorced and busy living my life for my children - he was still partying and I still had no interest (in not just him but ANY man at that time, but God had other plans...).
The girls in the department I worked in though he was the cutest thing walking, I just couldn't see it - all I saw when looking at him was a young, irresponsible, self-centered, womanizing...the list went on and on.
The girls kept after me telling me I should ask him out, I ignored them as long as I could. I finally decided to go out with him to quiet THEM *knowing* that the date would end disastrously and I could then be past all this.
Well, it was a bad date, not as bad as it could have been or I expected it to be, but bad just the same. I was surprised when he asked me for a 2nd date. (I thought 'why not; can't get any worse than what the first one was')...the 2nd date was actually very nice and to my shock, he was a totally different guy than what I *knew* him to be, He was shy, quiet, had dreams, and was actually very polite! His partying lifestyle was, in his words, the only way he could come out of his shell and feel accepted...and he was miserable with it.
Needless to say, God had this man planned for me.
We married 1 year later and to this day (going on 11 years now) are just as much in love as we were our wedding day.

Guess it wasn't as short as I thought, lol ;)

  2. My husband and I meet the summer my best friend and I were 16. It was the first time our parents allowed us to really go anywhere without adults, so we decided to go to the local water park, considering we both LOVED to swim. We planned our trip for months. When it came close to the date to go, my friend starting dating this guy and asked to bring him. A few days later her boyfriend asked to bring his buddy. So we meet at the water park and had a great day then talked a couple of times over the next few weeks and about six weeks later started dating. One year later we married. :)

  3. Love your story, Jennifer! My hubby & I met at the local dirt race track (it's not there anymore). I was a 'trophy girl' (*funny, huh*) and he was driving the pace car. When the 'trophy dash' was complete, he would drive me out to greet the winner and present the trophy. I was 15...so was he, but I thought he was 20 or so. For me, I think it was love at first sight. Within 2 months we were dating and married 13 months later. It's now been 36 years in August!

  4. I met my husband 21 years ago at a clothing store we both worked at. We were both going down in the elevator, there was a ladder between us. He asked me if I liked Disney movies, and if I would like to see 101 Dalmations. On August 8, 1991, he took me to see 101 Dalmations and then we went to eat at a 50's dinner called Wolfy's. One year later we were married. :)
