Coffee Cake....for breakfast?!

Good Morning, my family and I LOOOOOVE coffee cake. My husband makes it and we have it for breakfast...my husband thinks since it has the word coffee in it that it's ok lol and neither of my children have died yet from having cake for breakfast so I'm good with it. I want to share the recipe we tried this morning...

Apple Nut Coffee-Cake

You will need:

1 Egg
3/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups bisquick or the off brand of bisquick (we used the off brand)
1/3 plus 1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 Medium apples -pared and chopped
1 tsp ground cinnamon divided (1/2 and 1/2)
1/4 chopped pecans (we used almonds, I'm sure you can use any nut you want)

To Make:

Heat oven to 400*. Grease (or spray cooking spray) 9x13 baking pan. Beat egg; stir in milk, apples, and oil. Stir in your bisquick or off brand of bisquick. Mix the 1/3 brown sugar and 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. Stir just until the bisquick is moistened (the batter will be lumpy) Pour into the pan. Mix 1/4 cup brown sugar, and the nut of your choice and the other 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the cake batter and bake until golden brown - about 20 minutes.

Like I said, we love coffee cake. We even have a recipe for peanut butter coffee cake (YUM) which I'll share with you on the next Tasty Tuesday I post.

Have a great day friends, and I hope you enjoy the coffee cake!
