Are You Prepared?

As women, we understand the motto, "Always be prepared."  Whether we're caring for children, husbands, or just ourselves, we understand that life happens and we must be ready to deal with it.

If we have a big presentation due at work, we spend time preparing our material.  If we are having guests over for dinner, we take the time to prepare our homes and food for the occasion.  If one of our children has a report due for school, we make sure they have done the necessary preparations to be ready.

We understand that we must be prepared for these events in life.  So why do we think it's okay to just show up for church without being prepared?

The Lord said to Moses, "Give these instruction to the people of Israel:  The offerings you present as special gifts are a pleasing aroma to me; they are my food.  See to it that they are brought at the appointed times and offered according to my instructions."  Numbers 28:1-2

Following the rituals for sacrifices took time, and God wanted the Israelites to use this time to prepare their hearts for worship. They needed to think about why they were offering these gifts and they needed to make sure they were offering them with the right attitude.

A true worship experience is often a direct result of preparation for worship.

Unless our heart is ready, worship is meaningless.  God is delighted when we are prepared to come before Him in a spirit of thankfulness.

Are you prepared to worship God today?

Many blessings,

  1. I want to live a life of worship. I want to spend time daily praising Him, conversing with Him and sitting with Him that way come church day, I am ready to receive the corporate worship. Great encouragement.

  2. Oooooh, Lisa, very good. I know I tend to just rock up at church, although my attitude is that I'm there to give praise but I never thought to prepare! Great challenge on this heart of mine
    God bless
