Faith or Fear

The following is the very first post I wrote for my personal blog.  It isn't directly about worship, but I really feel like God is telling me to post it here, today.  If you have been dealing with fear, God wants you to read this.  God knows you and He cares about you.  Have no fear!

Faith and fear cannot be friends.  They cannot coexist.

Fear comes to take us captive and keep us in bondage.  Fear brings sleepless nights, heavy shoulders, clouded minds and upset stomachs.  Fear whispers in our ears that our world is coming to an end and nothing can save us.  It is always hovering just over our heads speaking doubt and dread into our lives.

Oh, but faith comes to set us free!  Faith opens up the prison doors and lets us run.  Faith brings peaceful nights, beautiful mornings, carefree steps and a joyful heart.  Faith whispers there is a God who loves me and holds me in His mighty, powerful hand.  Faith reminds us that God is mighty to save.

Which will you choose today, faith or fear?  I chose faith!

Oh, thank God—he's so good! His love never runs out.
All of you set free by God, tell the world!
Tell how he freed you from oppression.
Psalm 107:1-2

Many blessings,

  1. Faith! I was held captive for too many years by fear.

  2. I found a quote that says: Faith is putting all your eggs in God's basket and counting your blessings before they hatch. I love that! I can have fear about what's ahead, or I can place my faith in God and count my blessings. I choose faith!

  3. I choose faith! It's something I have to choose daily as it doesn't come easy for me, but He is faithful even when I struggle!

  4. I choose faith and, for me too, it is a daily choice. When I make the fear choice, I slip into hoplessness.
