To Worn Out to Worship

As I was writing my post about worship for last week, I wondered how many of you say, "Everything you are saying is great, but I don't have time to worship."  Today I want to focus on you - the mom with crying kids clinging to her every step.  The wife working two jobs because her husband lost his job.  The woman with just too much on her plate.  You can't imagine having time to yourself to just sit and worship.

How do you have time to worship?

When you sit to fold that mountain of laundry, begin to praise God for His blessing of clothing.  Pray over the people who wear those clothes.

On your way to your first, second, or maybe even third job, worship by praising God for His provision.  It may not make sense in the way He provides, but He does provide.  Praise Him for His faithfulness.

As you walk through the house with a crying baby in your arms and a screaming toddler clinging to your leg,  begin to sing a praise song to Jesus.  Your song may bring peace to the moment.  I have found that just having worship music playing in the room can help calm tempers.  And when your kids have more energy than you do, have them start worshiping Jesus by dancing, just like David did. (1 Sam. 6:14)

Worship is more than just an action, it's an attitude.  And when we begin to worship, God comes in and brings peace to our troubled souls.  He calms our minds and hearts and give us strength.

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.  For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:12,13

Many blessings,

  1. "When you have a crying baby and a toddler clinging to your leg" this is me haha I LOVE worshipping God. I find time during naptimes and I look forward to that time every day (not just because it's quiet) but because God meets with me every day in the quiet. Love this thanks Lisa!

  2. I remember many times when my babies were fussing and nothing would work but crying out to God and singing praises as I rocked my baby. When we bath our children or cook dinner, we can be praying for them.

As you said, worship is more than an action. It is an attitude. I want to be in an attitude of worship all day.

  3. I love Worshipping God as well, I did it as I hurried to the store before it rained. (I was in a power chair and you know what rain with electric chairs may do) so I asked God to hold off really pouring the rain down until I got to the awning of our apartment building, had to duck into the sonic drive threw and parked a bit (its just right around the corner) now that I'm safely home there is spots of sunshine where light sprinkles were,,, hehe Isn't God great!!!
