The Heart of Worship

Welcome to our first Worship Wednesday.  Each week we will be talking about something to do with worship.

When the music fades, all is stripped away, and I simply come,
longing just to bring something that's of worth
that will bless your heart.

I'll bring you more than a song, for a song in itself
is not what you have required.
You search much deeper within,
through the way thing appear.
You're looking into my heart.

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
and it's all about you.
All about you, Jesus.
Heart of Worship, Hillsong United

Worship:  to express praise and devotion.

I absolutely love our worship services at church.  I just get lost in worship.  To hear a group of people singing praises to our God makes me long for Heaven.  Music stirs my soul and leads me to that place where it's just me and God.

But worship is more than just music.  God looks past the songs we sing.  He looks past the way things appear; He looks into our hearts.

God loves to hear our songs of praises.  He deserves our praise.  But how it must grieve Him when we sing praises on Sunday, and live like the world the rest of the week.

I challenge you today; look deeper into your heart.  Who's seated on the throne?  Do you have a part-time King?  We bring God pleasure when we give ourselves completely to God.  The heart of worship is full surrender to the King.

  1. I love worship songs too. It's amazing how I might start feeling the stress of the day or take my focus off of Christ and I will hop into my car and will hear a worship song on the radio and it brings me back to the foot of the cross!

  2. One of my favorite songs! My truest of all passions is worship. There is nothing more amazing than to see God's people worshipping Him. I especially love to see children worshipping. It fills my heart FULL of joy! I can't wait to get to heaven and worship my Savior continuously!!!

  7. I agree, Lisa, that worship involves more than singing on Sunday. It's daily love and adoration for God.
Worship is a state of mind and a way of life. Minute by minute communion with Him.

This site is new? This is my first time here. Beautiful~

  9. Sometimes I think music is one of the most precious gifts God gave to human kind. Worship for me must include music...my heart feels like it's connected by those chords directly to the Holy Spirit! He is SO amazingly wonderful -- wayyyyy beyond words!!

    Praise you Jesus!!
