Fearfully And Wonderfully made— Like an Intricate patchwork Quilt

 By: Paula Short

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

 your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14— NIV

Sometimes when I'm randomly just thinking in awe about God and His creations it leads me to think about us— we truly are a marvel, intricately and purposefully created by our loving God. From the smallest cells to the largest organs, our bodies are perfectly designed to function together.

 Our lives are like patchwork quilts. They are made up of different pieces, each with its own unique story. Some pieces are happy, some are sad, and some are downright hard. But when we put all the pieces together, they create a beautiful and unique whole.

 Just like a skilled quilter, God designed all those different pieces and wove them together into something beautiful. Each piece is important to him and together they create something special.

 The good pieces in our lives stand for the happy moments, the milestones, and the people who love us. The bad pieces stand for the challenges, the pain, and the times we've made mistakes. And the ugly pieces stand for the things we'd rather forget.

But God doesn't throw away any of the pieces. He takes them all and weaves them together into something beautiful. He knows that even the ugly pieces can be used to create something new and beautiful.

 Even when we can't see the bigger picture, we can trust that God is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). We may not understand why certain things happen in our lives, but we can rest in the knowledge that we are loved by a God who sees us and knows us intimately.

 Here are some other thoughts on the analogy of life as a patchwork quilt:

 — The quilter chooses the fabrics carefully, considering the colors, patterns, and textures. In the same way, God chooses the experiences in our lives carefully, knowing how they will shape us and help us grow.

— The quilter sews the pieces together with thread, creating a strong and durable bond. In the same way, God's love binds us together, even through difficult times.

— The quilter often adds a border to the quilt, finishing it off with a beautiful design. In the same way, God has a plan for our lives, and He will ultimately bring us to a place of peace and joy.

Let's Reflect

So, if you're feeling discouraged or overwhelmed, take heart. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by a God who delights in you. Your life may be a patchwork quilt, but it's a beautiful one - a testament to the love and grace of our Creator.
