Prayer is the Best We Can Do

By: Jenifer Metzger

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all
people. Ask God to help them; intercede
on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
1 Timothy 2:1

Every day we see people who are hurting. People who are sick, lonely, addicted, grieving, afraid, depressed, people who need a touch from Jesus. And every day we ignore them.

Then there are times we see a need and want to jump into action. What can we do? How can we make a difference?

Prayer is the Best We Can Do #pray #prayer #prayingwoman

The Bible tells us to pray for all people. 1 Timothy tells us to intercede on their behalf. Your prayers matter. Your prayers move the heart of God and make a difference. Prayer isn't a what we do when we can't do anything else. Prayer isn't a last resort. Prayer should be our automatic go to. Prayer is the best we can do.

It doesn't matter if the person has been kind to you or not, if you know the need, pray. It doesn't even matter if you know the person or not, if you know the need, pray.

Let's be women who "intercede on their behalf."

Several months ago I heard a song by Katy Nichole. In Jesus Name (God of Promise) is a woman praying for God to move on behalf of someone else. This song is powerful and has blessed me. It has also reminded me of the power we have when we pray.  Please listen and be blessed.

It's time for Share A Link Wednesday! Each Wednesday we invite you to leave a link to your latest blog post in the comments. We still desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories.
