Encouragement

 By: Shari A. Miller

The past few years have been difficult for all of us. We've dealt with health issues, political issues, employment issues and many more difficulties which at  times seem too numerous to count. We have choices during these times, we can either bury our heads into the sand or look upward and get strength from our heavenly Father.

The Word of God is where I draw strength and encouragement from during these times.

Below, you'll find ten of my favorite verses that uplift me when times are hard. I hope you'll find strength from them as well.

1. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."   Isaiah 41:10

2. "When you pass through the waters, I will be with; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2

3. "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defensehe has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

4. "Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I."  Isaiah 58:9a

5. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

6. "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

7. " I keep my eyes always on the LordWith him at my right hand, I will not be shaken."  Psalm 16:8

 8. "Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27

9. "For we live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

10. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
