He Is There

 By: Jenifer Metzger

I cry aloud to the Lord; I plead aloud to the Lord for mercy.
I pour out my complaint before Him; I reveal my trouble to Him.
Although my spirit is weak within me, you know my way.
Along this path I travel they have hidden a trap for me.
Psalms‬ ‭142:1-3‬

The other day I read these verses and they hit me hard. I feel like I could have written them myself. I feel as though I have been crying aloud, pleading, pouring out my complaint, and revealing to God for so long. My spirit feels so weak and frail. I feel alone, hurt. I feel as though everything continues to get worse despite my crying aloud and pleading.

Have you felt this way? Alone. Hurt. Betrayed. Fearful. Depressed. We have all felt this kind of pain at some point for whatever reason. But the worst pain is when you feel like God just isn't there. Like He is just ignoring your prayers or doesn't care.

Friend, I can assure you, He is there. He promises to never leave us and never forsake us and we can always trust in His promises. When it feels like He isn't answering our prayers or working in our situation, He is doing a work, we just can't see it yet.

Whatever it is you are facing, you are not alone. God is with you. He is right by your side. Lean in to Him and trust that He is doing a work.

It's time for Share A Link Wednesday! Each Wednesday we invite you to leave a link to your latest blog post in the comments. We still desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories.

  2. Amen, is all I can say to this post. He is there! All the time He is there! Thank you so much for this reminder. This week I wrote about the dangers of keeping secrets in your marriage, https://keepingthetiethatbinds.com/2020/10/14/secrets-have-no-place-in-your-marriage/
