Fully known and dearly loved...

"For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim, (blurred), reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then, [when perfection comes],we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part, (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood by God."
 1 Corinthians 13:12 AMPC

This journey we have embarked on when we accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is one of getting to know and grow in relationship with the God Who loves us and Who we have chosen to love in return. The most passionate of us in our pursuit to grow in our understanding of God will still only barely scratch the surface of the fathomless wonder of Who He is. When we enter eternity with Him, hopefully we will have come to know Him well enough that our greeting to Him is one of satisfied wonder, "I knew You were like this, and yet You are so much more!", and not one of puzzlement, "This is what You're like?"

Meanwhile, here in our life on planet earth, while we are pursuing to grow in our knowledge and understanding of God, we can take comfort in this truth. Your Creator fully, wholly, and clearly knows you. He "gets" you. No matter what enneagram number you are, or what personality profile you are on the Myers Briggs test, no matter how quirky others think you are, or how you struggle to fit in and feel accepted, Your Creator understands you. He made you one of a kind on purpose. It was His kind intention to make you uniquely you. He dearly loves you. You! When He created you He clapped His hands in delight. It breaks His heart when you don't see yourself the way He sees you. It grieves Him when you don't love yourself the way He loves you. Rest is His acceptance and love. Are there areas in your life that He sees you struggle in, areas that He knows you need to change and grown in? Of course! Does He want you to grow in Christlikeness and to become more like Jesus? Yes, indeed! But, is He disappointed in the core of who you are, in the one of a kind you that He created? Never! Be you. Be the best you you can be. Be the you God created you to be. But never, ever, ever, waste your life trying to be a poor imitation of someone else. If God was into cookie cutter look alikes He could have created a planet full of duplicates. But He loves the diversity of His family, from our different shades of skin to our different personality types and everything in between. Learn to enjoy being you in the here and now and also the growing and learning and changing and expanding you that is to come. Learn to enjoy the journey of growing in accepting your you-nique-ness while at the same time pursuing Christlikeness. There is freedom when you quit fighting to be understood and accepted by others and begin to rest in the fact that you are fully understood, accepted and loved by Your Father God.
