Love

by Debi Baker

"7 Beloved, let us love one another:  for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."

1 John 4:7-8 KJV

"16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
1 John 4:16 KJV

"19 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16 KJV

"19 We love him, because he first loved us."
1 John 4:19 KJV

"8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8 ESV

"34 A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
John 13:34 KJV

"10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:10 JKJV

"24 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,"
Ephesians 2:4 KJV

This is just a small sampling of the many verses that tell us God is love!  The entire premise of our existence is that God is love.  He loves us with an everlasting love!  Love is the one thing that we can always count on from God.  The world will say it loves us...but it's not a genuine love.  Our friends, our family...they will say they love us but we've all seen times when those loved ones leave us.  God will never leave or forsake us!

"5 ...Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.
Hebrews 13:5 NIV

If you are feeling unloved or unlovable, please, read these verses over and over.  Remember this..."The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.'"  Jeremiah 31:3 NIV

Sometimes I think we forget that the entirety of the character of God is LOVE!  Why not take some time today reading about His love?  While you're at it, reaffirm your love for Him!!

Have a blessed day!!
