Where is our hope...

by Debi Baker

"34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I
have loved you, that you also love one another.  35 By this all will
know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
John 13:34-35 NKJV

These verses have been on my mind a lot lately!  How easy it is to forget that we are to love one another!  My heart hurts for the divide of this country.  My heart hurts for the divide in the family unit.  My heart hurts for the children who go to bed hungry every night!  My heart hurts for the men, women and children who are abused on a daily basis!

In my heart, I would like to believe that we live in this bubble; a bubble where everyone gets along, the weather is always sunshine and flowers and everyone is happy, happy, happy!  Yes, I know that's an impossible dream.  Yes, I know it's fantasy land!  But, I would rather see that in my heart's eye than to see the state of this country today!

There is one thing that gets me through each and every day...and that's the fact that I know there is hope for each of us.  If we trust in the Lord and confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!!  (1 John 1:9)  I know that when I look at the events of our world today, I don't have to look with despair.  I know that I have hope!

If the news and events going on in our world today are bringing you down, remember this!  All you need to do is look up.  Look to Jesus.  He is your hope and we all need hope.

"19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls..."
Hebrews 6:19 NLT

Have a hope-filled and amazing day!
