Your Love Story

By: Jenifer Metzger

Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. #lovestory #marriage #marriagemonday #wife #husband #love

You've probably heard this quote before. Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. We hear love stories all of the time. From movies, tv, books, friends, family members and even strangers. We ooh and aah over the romantic details. We fall in love with the idea of this sweet love.

The idea of this love story has gotten a little out of hand. No longer can a man just ask a woman to marry him or a young man just ask a young woman to a dance. It has to be a big show. There has to be some big display of love for all to see. Then everyone else feels they have to outdo and the show continues. We soon become discontent with our own proposal or love story. It's not at all that there is anything wrong with these big displays. They are great. But so are smaller, more personal displays. It's not the size of display or the audience or price tag, it's about the heart.

Today I want to encourage you to think about your love story. It doesn't matter if your husband proposed in an elaborate way or if it was just the two of you in a quiet setting with no big show. It's your story. It doesn't matter if your husband posts to Facebook how amazing he thinks you are and how much he appreciates you or if he simply tells you in the quiet of your home. It's your love story. Don't let your heart be discontent. Embrace your love story exactly the way it is. Own that love story! Be proud of that love story!

Share some of your own love story in the comments. We'd love to hear!
