"29 He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven."
Psalm 107:29-30 (NIV)

Most everyone I talk to anymore is struggling with some sort of storm in their life.  It seems everywhere we turn there is something that causes a whirlwind of emotion and craziness.  So how do we get through these 'whirlwinds?'   How do we make it from day to day when the world around us is out of control?

Psalm 107:29-30 is basically telling us that trusting God will bring peace.  God will calm the storm in our life...He will still the waves and they will become calm...He will guide us to where we need to be.  Here's another thought on this...while God may calm the storm around you, more often He'll calm the storm within you.

While life is indeed a whirlwind, the peace that God gives us...that peace which transcends ALL human imagination...will allow us to be calm during the storms.  If you feel like life around you is out of control, don't let it get the best of you!  Look to the Lord and let Him calm the storms in you...and as the storms in you are calmed, you may find that the whirlwind of life around you doesn't turn your world upside down!

Have a blessed day,

  1. We all have storms, but He is there to calm them. Great word!
