It's Time to Take Off the Mask

By: Shari A. Miller

We all have trials that we go through, no matter who we are.....mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend. Sometimes, the trials may seem trivial and like they don't matter in the grand scheme of things, and other times they may seem like they're more than we can handle.

I find it sad that we as Christians will often put on the, "I'm fine mask." When asked how we are doing, the reply is often, "I'm good and you?"

Sisters, if you've ever found yourself in this situation, I want you to know that you don't have to walk this road alone. God did not design for our lives to be this way.

It's time for you to take off the mask, and be real. It's ok to let others know that you're walking through a storm. It does not make you any less of a person, it makes you human.

"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NIV)

With Christ at the center, and our Christian sisters and brothers beside us, a bond is formed that is not quickly broken. If you find that you have no one to share your burdens with, I want to encourage you to seek out a local church in your area.

Here at Woman to Woman, we have groups of Christian women who talk to each other daily, share what we have been reading in God's Word, as well as pray for each other. If you would like to join one of our groups, or just learn more about them, please feel free to find out more information here, Woman to Woman, Morning Reflections Groups.

It's time for all of us to take down the walls, open our hearts, and walk hand in hand as the body of Christ.

"He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love." Ephesians 4:15 (NLT)
